VocaLock listens through your microphone so it can hear your claps and your spoken phrases. That is the whole reason the app exists, so we want to be exact about what happens to that audio.
Every sound VocaLock hears is processed on the device, in memory, and thrown away immediately. Nothing is recorded to a file. Nothing is uploaded. No audio is sent to us, to any server, or to any third party. The speech model used to match your phrases is bundled inside the app and runs entirely offline.
Your plan status, your phrases and your settings are stored on your device. Your backup PIN is never stored — only a salted one-way hash of it, held in Android's encrypted storage. We cannot read your PIN, and neither can anyone who obtains the file.
When you sign in with Google, we receive your name, your email address and Google's identifier for your account. We use them only to keep your subscription attached to you and to answer you if you write to us. They are not sold, shared for advertising, or used for anything else.
Payments are handled by Razorpay. Your card, UPI or bank details go to Razorpay directly and never reach us. We receive only the result: the amount, whether it succeeded, and Razorpay's reference for it. We keep that record for as long as tax law requires.
If the app crashes, it sends a crash report through Firebase Crashlytics (Google): the error, your phone model and Android version, the app version, the last few screens and actions in the app, and an internal account number. Crash reports never contain audio, your phrases, your PIN, your name or your email. We use them only to fix bugs.
Profile → Delete account erases your name, email and sign-in straight away and cancels your subscription. See Delete your account for the details.
VocaLock is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect their data.
